Garden Party

How to throw a garden party in style in this city where open space is so hard to come by? My forever-stylish cousin came up with a children-and-adult-friendly version for her daughter’s 1st birthday party.

Balloons and ponies are a must...

Perfect afternoon for grown-ups and children alike

Table decoration - more balloons

She picked an animal/jungle theme and the marquee and garden were transformed into tropical rainforest with balloons and the craftsmanship of a team of balloon artists.

Animal-themed birthday cake

Fortunately the birthday cake measured up to the amazing balloon decorations. Cute cartoon versions of lion, elephant, hippo, giraffe, monkey etc all happily dotted around a waterfall.

Great details on the cake

A cheerful cake full of animals and colours

Have always been skeptical about the taste of any novelty cakes as they typically look much better than they taste. However, this animal-themed creation from Cake2 was airy and light – mixed fruits and fresh cream layered with vanilla chiffon cake.

Other treats to keep those little faces smiling are lollipops. These are truly edible rainbows on sticks! Just look at the colours. What’s not to love?

Lollipops - another favourite among the kids

How would you throw a garden party for your friends and family?
